From Clumsy Cuddly Pup to Well Behaved Giant

Tookie came to us at 10 weeks as a sweet Great Dane pup who wanted to spend most of his day cuddled in a nap. After being dropped off, he would run from the door to the bedroom to get his cuddle nap started with Cassie, our Chief Cuddle Officer. He was one of our first Puppy Daycare clients and still one of our favorites! He grew incredibly fast and became a rambunctious pup who loved sprinting circles around the yard and chewing on any stick he could find. We worked daily to make sure potty training was on the right track and introduced him to many new friends for proper socialization. After a few months of Monday thru Friday daycare Tookie’s Dad was able to keep him at home and used our Longhorn Pet Services Daycare service as his schedule required. Tookie continued to grow and visit us for regular play sessions about once a week.

At around 9 months Tookie was starting to test his bark at most noises outside his apartment and had learned his strength gave him the ability to pull his owner on the leash wherever he wanted to go. Tookie’s Dad reached back out to Longhorn Pet Services for training and we were happy to help. After a few sessions of our In-Home training program Tookie was heeling nicely on leash and learning our “place” command to keep him calm and more quiet when the neighbors or delivery people went by. We still love Tookie and are so happy to have played a role in his transformation to a handsome giant gentleman!
